Before you are able to find or complete this treasure map, you must first have the appropriate gear. You visit Svartalfheim very early on in your adventures with Kratos but you cannot complete much of the area until you return later in the story with Brok and Freya. During the story missions Kratos will get a new weapon, a weapon that allows him to interact with puzzles in new ways, specifically the metal objects on walls that spit out wind. Once you have access to this you can explore more of Svartalfheim and complete this Treasure Map.

Kratos’ typical puzzle-solving methods don’t work and when you attempt to interact with them, Atreus will say you need some sort of special equipment. Can you buy it? Can you miss it? What is it? Kratos will discover many of these strange boulders and rockfaces covered in cracks, highlighted by a yellow glow. You can find these as early as the first couple of planes you visit, and as late as the last. They are scattered throughout the game but you cannot interact with them or use them until you have a specific piece of equipment.

How To Break Yellow Cracked Rocks In God Of War Ragnarok

You need to continue with the main story arc, called The Path, until you reach a mission where you accompany Brok to a Forge to create a new weapon. This mission is called Forging Destiny. At the end of that mission, once you have reached the Forge, Brok will give Kratos a new Spear.

You can then use the Spear to smash rocks with a yellow cracked surface. Hold L2 to aim with the spear and then R1 to throw the spear. Once you have a spear stuck in the surface, press Triangle to make it explode.

There are many side quests in God of War: Ragnarok, these side quests are called Favours. Most of them offer some great rewards so it’s always worth tracking them down and completing them when the opportunity arises.

God Of War Ragnarok Born From Fire Guide

Draugr Hole Location #1

You can find the first Draugr Hole at this location. You can find it near the Bay of Bounty at the Watchtower.

Draugr Hole Location #2

This one can be found inside the mine, it’s part of the story to visit the mines. Just before the very end, you’ll be walking around a circular wooden platform and on the left you’ll see a large wooden door with a blue gem-like object sitting at the top middle of the door. Enter that door to find this Draugr Hole.

Draugr Hole Location #3

You can find the third hole on Midgard. This is when you return later with Kratos and Freya, you cannot reach this location during the sequence where you play Atreus in Midgard.

Where To Find The Guiding Light Armor Set In God Of War Ragnarok

Waistband Of Guiding Light
You can find the Waist Guard of Guiding Light at this location in Midgard. At The Oarsman location, you will encounter a destroyed statue of Tyr, this is a statue that you visited much earlier in the game with Atreus. If you go through the statue to the other side and defeat the enemies, there is some bramble you can burn. Burn the bramble to free the item and then pick it up.

Gauntlets Of Guiding Light
For the Gauntlets of Guiding Light you’ll want to head to the Lake of the Nine, just to the East of the Raider Fort. There’s an inscription here you can read on the side of a monument. Just before the monument, there is a bit of snow that has recently been disturbed. Interact with the snow to pick up this piece of the Guiding Light Armor Set.

Breastplate Of Guiding Light
You can find the final piece here, on the Lake of Nine. Tyr’s massive helmet from his huge statue is sitting on the surface of the lake. Look inside to find another piece of disturbed snow. Loot it to get the final piece of the Guiding Light Armor Set.

You may actually find the door that requires the two keys before you can actually find the keys, so let’s get that out of the way first. In the Northern edge of The Forbidden Stands there’s a huge statue of Freyr, Freya’s brother. Head to that location. When you get there Freya will start a Favour. Solve the simple light crystal puzzle to complete this Favour. This then allows you to inspect piles of black sand with glass stones in them for various rewards, such as crafting ingredients and other items.

Much like upgrading your weapons and armor, if you want to upgrade your Amulet, which includes repairing broken slots, you must be at a Blacksmith. You can find the two Dwarves at home but they nearly always have various shops on each of the different planes you visit. If you haven’t seen one in a while just continue and before long you’ll either find a new shop or be at a Mystic Gate to return home and upgrade your Amulet.

Whilst God of War has a big game world, it’s not as huge as some open-world games and it’s very carefully segmented into areas on each plane. Upgrading your weapons and armor is a great way of increasing your power but the Enchantments you can fit into your amulet can be even more powerful, especially if you manage to find complete sets of specific Enchantments. As such, you’ll want to upgrade your Amulet as quickly as you can by finding as many Jewels Of Yggdrasil as you can.

Where To Find Jewels Of Yggdrasil In God Of War Ragnarok

Jewels Of Yggdrasil Location #1

This is the first Jewels Of Yggdrasil we found. You can find this on Alfheim in the Forbidden Sands. You must have Freya with you to access the Forbidden Sands. In the North East corner of the Forbidden Sands there is a Light Elf temple. Head inside. Once inside climb to the upper levels and you’ll find a variety of boxes and chests. Loot them all to find your first Jewels Of Yggdrasil.

Jewels Of Yggdrasil Location #2

You can find the next Jewels Of Yggdrasil in Midgard. When you reach the open-world exploration part with Kratos and Freya. Go to The Oarsman and follow the Favour through to the end. The jewel is in the legendary box there.

Jewels Of Yggdrasil Location #3
During the main story quest “The Word of Fate” you encounter a Frost Phantom. After you kill the Frost Phantom it drops a Jewels Of Yggdrasil.

Jewels Of Yggdrasil Location #4

You can find this jewel in Svartalfheim but you must first have gone far enough into the story to obtain the Spear. Once you’ve got the Spear you can reach the top of this island and open the treasure chest for another amulet upgrade.
