When starting your first playthrough in Manor Lords, it’s a good idea to check the region for resources. You want either a Rich Deposit of Iron or Clay. This is because, later in the game, a Rich Deposit can be upgraded to offer infinite amounts of the resources, which is a fantastic way of earning lots of Regional Wealth.

Be Careful When Constructing Buildings

Everything in Manor Lords is real-time. If your villagers need water from a well, they will walk to that resource, collect it, and return it home, all in real-time.

As such, placement of buildings and resources is vital for an effective region. Make sure you build your Marketplace central to all of your Burgage Plots. This allows for faster transporation of resources.

If you have resource nodes far from your central hub, consider adding additional storage and hitching posts nearby for ease of transportation.

Spend Development Points Wisely

Development Points are rewarded for reaching milestones and upgrading your region. However, you will not earn enough to unlock all Development options.

As such, it’s vital to plan ahead. Don’t waste Development Points on farming upgrades if you have poor fertility soil or a lack of space for farms.

Likewise, don’t waste Development Points on Basic Armormaking if you don’t have a Rich Deposits of Iron.
