Be Careful When Enhancing Weapons & Armor

When you are at a Blacksmith and plan to enhance your weapons, pay close attention to that Blacksmith’s trait. Look at the center, at the top of the screen, and you will see the effects that particular Blacksmith’s talents will have on your weapons.

For example, when you use a certain Blacksmith to Enhance a weapon, it may provide magical attack and magical defense as increased stats, pretty useless for certain characters.

Paying close attention to what Blacksmith’s offer what boons when Enhancing, can be a great help to maxing your characters potential.

Side Quests Are Hidden

Side quests do not appear on your mini-map and there are dozens that can be completely missed. Side quests offer some of the best rewards in the game, so you want to make sure you speak to everyone you see and most importantly, listen.

You Can Buy Your Own House For 20,000 Gold

Resting at various taverns and other establishments can be very expensive and quickly eats away at your gold reserves. A great tip is to purchase a starter house as early as you can, and it only costs 2,500 Gold pieces.

When you arrive in the capital, head to the path just South East of the Stardrop Inn. You will hear a lady, Mildred, nearby, speak to her and she will ask you to watch her home for a week. You can then use the bed freely and a chest to deposit items.

After one week, she will return and offers to sell you the house for 20,000 Gold.

Store Items At Every Opportunity

Most of the food, fruit, and vegetable items you find can degrade over time. Lots of these items are used in vital crafting recipes, such as making potions. There is no visible timer or clues, so it’s best to store your items as frequently as possible. Items stored in your chest do not rot or degrade.

Understanding The Grab Command In & Out Of Combat

Being able to grab and mount massive enemies is one of the stand-out features of Dragon’s Dogma 2. When in combat you can use the Grab action to grab a large enemy and attempt to shift their balance. This is especially effective if an enemy is stumbling, as it allows you to knock them down.

If you jump and Grab at an enemy, if they are big enough, you will mount them. You can then climb around to various weak points to deal huge amounts of damage.

However, the Grab action is also useful outside of combat. If you’ve found a dead character or an injured civilian, you can use the Grab action to carry them to safety.

Additionally, you can also use Grab during parts of the story, such as chasing down a fleeing suspect or needing to arrest someone.

Don’t Sell Your Courtly Attire!

Throughout the early stages of the game you will find Courtly Tunic & Courtly Breeches. These cost 100,000 Gold to purchase and sell for a decent amount too. However, do not sell them all.|

There are multiple quests throughout both the main story and side content, that require you to have fancy clothes in order to access certain areas or avoid arousing suspicion. Always make sure you have at least one Courtly Tunic and one Courtly Breeches in storage, at all times.

Do Choices Matter?

Yes, the choices in Dragon’s Dogma 2 have a huge impact on how the story plays out. The game is filled with choices, some with very minor consequences, others can be the difference between life and death for certain characters.

Are Side Quests Timed?

Certain side quests are “timed” in a sense that the outcome is different depending on how quickly you complete the side quest. For example, the side quest Ordeal’s Of A New Recruit in the Borderwatch Outpost, has multiple endings.

If you take too long to rescue the recruit, he will be dead on your arrival. It’s not always clear what side quests are time limited, so it’s a good idea to complete a side quest as soon as you obtain it.

How Many Vocations Are In Dragon’s Dogma 2?

There are a total of 10 Vocations available to the player. The game begins with Fighter, Archer, Magic, and Thief being available. Additional Vocations you can unlock include Warrior, Sorcerer, Trickster, Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand, and Warfarer.

The main character, the Arisen, is able to utilize any of these classes but Pawns can only use Fighter, Archer, Magic, Thief, Warrior, and Sorcerer.

How To Unlock All Vocations In Dragon’s Dogma 2

The Warrior and Sorcerer Vocations are unlocked by reaching Vernworth and visiting the Vocation guild. Warfarer is unlocked by completing the Sotted Sage quest, Trickster by visiting a Shrine in Battahl, Magick Archer by completing Put a Spring in Thy Step, and Mystic Spearhand by speaking with Sigurd.

What Is The Best Vocation In Dragon’s Dogma 2

This is an entirely subjective question because all of the Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are incredibly effective. There is no right or wrong choice, one Vocation isn’t substantially weaker than others.

Each Vocation plays a role and to find the best Vocation for you, you want to find the role that suits your playstyle. The Sorcerer Vocation deals incredible amounts of damage but is quickly felled by enemy attacks. If attacking from a distance and being aware of your surroundings works for you, that’s a good vocation to pick.

If you prefer up-close-and-personal styles, go for the Fighter, it’s robust defensive options make it easier to keep alive and, due to its heavier armor, makes it much easier and less punishing to mount larger enemies.

However, that being said, there is a Vocation, Warfarer, towards the latter stages of the game that is arguably the best, but it takes a skilled hand to use.

How Many Save Slots Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 Have?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 features two save slots that are automatically overridden at certain points. However, this is not as brutal as players first expected. The “active” slot saves when players finish certain battles, reach certain quest milestones, or simply after a set period of time since the previous save.

The “Inn” save slot only saves when a player rests at an inn or a house. As such, it can be treated much like any other game. Pro tip: Before doing a choice or something you may want to undo, save on the manual slot and then rest at an inn. Then, after the event, you can either reload the manual save or the inn save if that one has been overwritten.
