Check This BEFORE Enhancing Weapons In Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 players are missing a vital mechanic hidden away in the games Enhancing system. A little know aspect of players Enhancing weapons and armor can have a permanent negative effect on characters stats, so make sure to read on to avoid the mistake.

Very early in Dragon’s Dogma 2 players can Enhance the weapons and armor of both the main character and their Pawn. At first glance, it’s a simple system, one familiar to RPG players all over but watch a little closer and you’ll find it’s more detailed and useful than first thought. Not only does it allow you to better fine-tine specific characters and builds, but it can also have a negative effect if you don’t do it correctly.

Don’t Make This HUGE Mistake When Enhancing Equipment

Don't Make This HUGE Mistake When Enhancing Equipment

Every Blacksmith in Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers an Enhancing service. You pay gold and sometimes materials and in exchange the Blacksmith increases the stats on your weapon. However, every Blacksmith has their own set of tools, their own smithing method, and this is reflected in how the gear is upgraded.

Each Blacksmith has a Blacksmith style. Whenever you visit a Blacksmith and select the Enhancement option, pay close attention to their style at the top of the screen. The Blacksmith I’ve shown above is of the Battahli style.

This means that when you Enhance weapons or armor with this particular Blacksmith and the Battahli style, you will get a much greater boost to Strength and Defense but minimal gains on Magick and Magick Defense.

As such it’s especially important when you are Enhancing rare or valuable weapons, ones you intend to use for a long time. It would be a waste to upgrade a Mage weapon with Strength and Defense. So pay close attention to the Blacksmith you visit.
