How To Set Pawn Quests In Dragon’s Dogma 2
Giving your pawn a quest is a great way of unlocking badges or trading items. This Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide covers everything you need to know about giving your pawn a quest, how the trading system works, and how you get better ratings for your pawns.
How To Unlock Pawn Quests
Unlocking Pawn Quests requires you to progress through the main story until you reach the capital, Vernworth. For some reason, before this point, the ability to actually set Pawn Quests is greyed out, so you can’t actually choose anything.
Once I reached Vernworth, I went to the inn and rested, as my Pawn had been defeated and I was a little banged up. When I awoke, my Pawn had returned from beyond the rift, and the game gave me a rundown of her activities and achievements from the night.
At this point, I unlocked the option of setting the Pawn quest for my pawn.
How To Set Pawn Quests
Once you have Pawn Quests unlocked, you can set a new Pawn Quest by visiting any major Riftstone. Note, they must be the major Riftstones. These are usually only followed in cities and villages, they are not the damage Riftstones that you find in the wild.
Once you are at the Riftstone simply navigate to the Pawn Quest menu. If you are in the rift, where you can see all the Pawns, close out of that screen to reach the Pawn menu. From there, you can assign your Pawn a quest.
What Are Pawn Quests For?
Pawn Quests offer a bonus to both yourself and other players, should they hire your pawn and complete their quest. Completing Pawn Quests comes with, usually, an item as a reward or perhaps some bonus progress towards a badge.
How To Get Pawn Badges
Pawn Badges are a unique method of unlocking powerful perks and bonuses for your Pawns. There are two options here, Request and Reward. The Request is the target monster you are asking other players to kill. So for example, if you set the Cyclops Clobberer Pawn Quest, other players will be encouraged to kill 1x Cyclops whenever they hire your Pawn.
If they complete the challenge of defeating the 1x Cyclops, it will go toward unlocking the badge for your Pawn and will also give the other player the item you placed in the reward section.
How Does Trading With Pawns Work?
When you assign a Pawn Quest you can choose the item option. This option allows you to choose two different items. One item will be the “Request for the other player” and the other “Reward for other player”. The Request item is the item you are asking the other player to deliver to your Pawn.
The Reward item is the item you are willing to give the other player should they complete the Pawn Quest. This is a simple method of trading two items between two players.
