GRID Legends
The fifth installment in the franchise, Codemasters and Electronic Arts are hitting the street once more with the release of GRID Legends.
More than 130 tracks will make their appearance, including Brands Hatch and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. More than 100 cars have also been included, running the gamut from touring cars, semi-trailer trucks, open-wheel cars, stadium trucks, drift cars, and electric vehicles.
A story mode called “Driven to Glory” will also be included, with both Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and Nathan McKane both lending their talents.
GRID Legends will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 25, 2022.
The King of Fighters XV
Fighting game fans will be able to shatter all expectations when SNK and Koch Media’s The King of Fighters XV launches this month.
A staple of the series, the three-on-three combat will once again make its return. A number of familiar faces will also make their return, including the Art of Fighting Team, Ikari Team, Fatal Fury Team, and Orochi Team.
This title is more than just a retread though; newcomers include Isla and Dolores, and changes have been made to the MAX Mode system. To polish up the presentation, the title is being created in Unreal Engine 4 and is the first to use GGPO rollback networking.
The King of Fighters XV will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 17, 2022.
Horizon Forbidden West
Players will once again follow the story of the huntress Aloy when Guerrilla Games and PlayStation Studios’ Horizon Forbidden West launches this month.
A mysterious plague kills all it infects, and it is up to Aloy to find its source. From there, players will traverse a post-apocalyptic western United States (made up of California, Utah and Nevada) as they take on a number of dangerous machines.
New to this entry is underwater exploration beneath seas, lakes and rivers. Enhanced melee combat, revamped climbing mechanics, and improved traversal options have also been included.
Horizon Forbidden West will come out for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18, 2022.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
The undead await with the release of Techland Games’ Dying Light 2 Stay Human this month.
Taking place 20 years after the events of the original Dying Light, players will follow the story of Aiden Caldwell as they explore the European locale known only as The City. Different factions and settlements have made their home here, and Aiden must make difficult decisions that all have their own consequences.
The parkour system from the original game returns, allowing Aiden to climb ledges, slide, leap off from edges, and wall run. Melee combat will take center stage once more, each of which can be upgraded through the use of different blueprints and components.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 4, 2022.
Elden Ring
Created in collaboration with Director Hidetaka Miyazaki and Novelist George R. R. Martin, the world of FromSoftware and Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring is set to release this month.
Players will be transported to the Lands Between as an exiled Tarnished, where they set out to find all the Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the Elden Lord.
Gameplay will take cues from the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, featuring action RPG combat in a third person perspective. New to this entry is mounted combat and a stealth system, along with interchangeable skills.
Elden Ring will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 25, 2022.
